Two people using Blurt to talk across languages

For the person in front of you

Say more than hello.

Ask the baker a question. Get to know a neighbor. Hear the answer instead of guessing. Blurt lets you take turns speaking through one phone, so a language gap doesn’t have to end the conversation.

7 days free, then $19.99/month for Plus or $39.99/month for Pro. Cancel anytime.

Your phone is all you need. Put it between you and take turns. Each person can read and hear the translation.

A conversation on one phone

Speak, then let them answer.

Keep the phone between you. Tap the microphone and wait for the ready tone. Speak, then tap again to send. The big wheel turns while Blurt translates. The words open full screen, with a speaker to hear them and an X to return to the conversation.

01

Tap once. Wait for the ready tone.

A double beep means your tap registered. When the ready tone sounds, speak in your own language. Tap again to send.

02

Blurt translates what you said

The other person gets the translation in their chosen language.

03

The screen faces the listener

The screen turns 180° so they can comfortably read the words while hearing them.

04

They answer on the same phone

They can reply, tap “I don’t understand” for a recheck, or ask you to say it another way. You can take the microphone back to add something.

From a real conversation · September 16, 2026

More than ordering a coffee. Buying a vehicle.

“Imagine going in to purchase a vehicle in a foreign country and dealing with a salesman that has no grasp of the English language.”

“We used it yesterday to purchase a vehicle and it worked flawlessly. People were very impressed with it.”

— Danny Brooking, Circle the People founder, reporting his own field test.

That’s one real experience, not a promise that every translation will be perfect. It’s why we’re building Blurt around the conversation—and helping people speak again when something isn’t clear.

Immersion · Included with Blurt Pro

You remember the moment. Now practise the words.

The bakery. The smell of fresh bread. The person behind the counter. You remember being there, and what you wanted to say.

Save the useful words in Blurt. Later, Immersion brings them into a listening and speaking session in Classroom. You’ve got a face, a place, and a reason to use them again.

“Next time I’m there, I’d like to say it myself.”
The morning coffee

Your usual, in your own words.

Practise the order you made today. Picture the counter and the person who served you.

The neighbor you met

Keep the conversation going.

Come back to your introduction. Try the words you’d like to use when you see each other again.

The question you needed

Have another go.

Listen to that useful phrase, then try saying it before you hear the example.

A few minutes for you

Let the day’s words come back.

Put on your headphones. Choose a session. Spend a little time with language you’ve already met.

Help choosing a language

Not sure which language to start with?

If you share your location, Blurt can suggest a language for the country or territory you’re in. You can accept it or choose another. Supported regional language options are used where available.

01

Share your location if you want

Location helps Blurt suggest a language while you’re using the app.

02

You make the choice

Check the suggestion before accepting it. You can always choose a different language.

03

Use a supported regional option

Where supported, Blurt uses a regional form of the language you chose.

A little closer

It feels good to understand each other.

A question, an answer, a shared laugh. Sometimes that’s all it takes to make an unfamiliar place feel friendlier.

Blurt helps with the language. What you want to say, and the interest you take in the other person, are yours.

You may leave with more than the answer you came for.

Your words. Your pace.

How do you feel like practising today?

Choose 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes. Immersion uses the phrases you’ve saved and gives you different ways to practise them.

Active Immersion

Listen. Have a go. Say it again.

Hear a phrase, try to bring the words back, and say them aloud. Listen to an example, then try the words in a slightly different exchange.

There’s time to answer. You can pause whenever you need to.

Deep Immersion

Headphones on. Just listen.

Let familiar phrases and short exchanges play through two voices. There’s no need to speak or keep looking at the screen.

Keep Blurt open while you listen. You can pause and come back when you’re ready.

Take a breath. Give yourself a minute.

You don’t have to rush straight into practice. Start with an optional quiet minute to get comfortable and leave the day’s distractions alone for a while. Or skip it and begin.

As you listen, you can picture where you were: the sound of the street, the smell of coffee, the face of the person you spoke to. The words belong to a moment in your life.

When can I start?

Immersion appears in Classroom once you’ve saved enough useful material for about eight minutes of practice. It’s included with Blurt Pro—there’s nothing extra to buy.

Keep saving the words you want to use again. Your practice grows with you.

Why we built Blurt

We were moving to France. There was so much we wanted to say.

We wanted to talk with the building manager, understand a sign, and get to know the neighbors. Those everyday exchanges mattered long before we felt ready for them. We built Blurt to help us take part, using the phone we already carried.
